This paper proves Hanlon's conjecture [\textit{Ph. Hanlon}, J. Comb. Theory, Ser. A 59, No. 2, 218-239 (1992; Zbl 0759.05020)] in two cases: (1) \(a= 1\), \(b= 2\), and \(k\) is arbitrary (nonzero eigenvalues) and (2) \(a= 1\), and \(b\) and \(k\) are arbitrary (the zero eigenvalue).
