The author treats the question of when the commutativity of the exponentials of normal operators imply that of the latter operators. The idea of proof is partly inspired by [\textit{M. H. Mortad}, Colloq. Math. 125, No. 1, 1--6 (2011; Zbl 1259.47002)]. Then the author generalizes his results to the case when one operator is unbounded and normal. It is worth noticing that this is the first work treating this question in an unbounded operator setting. For Part I, see [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 131, No.~12, 3777--3781 (2003; Zbl 1069.47018)].
