The authors examine the quasinormal mode frequencies of a Schwarzschild-de Sitter black hole in the degenerate-horizon (squeezed) limit. Critically re-assessing the limiting procedure used in the complex-variables monodromy analysis, the authors provide a possible resolution of a contradiction between the Poschl-Teller based calculation and the monodromy one. In conclusion, the authors emphasize, that a) a strongly l-dependent quasinormal-mode spectrum should cast doubt on the status of quasinormal modes in quantum gravity, b) both horizons (the black hole one and the cosmological one) contribute to quasinormal states spectrum at the same order of significance.
