The article under review is closely related with that of the author [Acta Math. Hung., No.~2, 439--457 (2018; Zbl 1413.46015)]), were the definition of weakly \(p\)-Dunford-Pettis sets was introduced. For \(1\leq p <\infty\), a bounded subset \(A\) of a Banach space \(X\) is called a weakly \(p\)-Dunford-Pettis set if, for all weakly \(p\)-summable sequences \((x'_n)\) in \(X\), \( \sup_{x\in A} |x'_n(x)| \rightarrow 0\). The article is devoted to study and characterize, as the title says, Banach spaces in which weakly \(p\)-Dunford-Pettis sets are relatively compact. These Banach spaces are said to have the \(wp\)-DPrc property. Several characterization of Banach spaces with the \(wp\)-DPrc property are given. For this, the author defines, in a natural way, the \(p\)-Dunford-Pettis completely continuous operators, which are those which map weakly \(p\)-Dunford-Pettis subsets into relatively compact sets. Also, some characterization of this class of operators are given. In the last section, the author gives many different conditions on Banach spaces \(X\) and \(Y\) under which the Banach space \( K(X,Y)\) of all compact operators from \(X\) to \(Y\) has the \(wp\)-DPrc property. Just for example, Corollary~27 states that, if \(X'\) has the Schur property and \(Y\) has the \(wp\)-DPrc property, then \(K(X,Y)\) has the \(wp\)-DPrc property.
