The numerical approximation of a fixed-point map for (as the basic model) the Dirichlet boundary value problem for a weakly nonlinear system of two elliptic equations is studied. The fixed-point map \(T\) is defined by a Jacobi system decoupling. The approximate fixed-point map \(T_ n\) is defined by decoupling based upon piecewise linear finite elements. The method uses the Krasnosel'skii method (for the two-sided estimation of the fixed point by numerical fixed points) and the Newton method for iterative calculations and so the approximation order is preserved with mesh independent constants.
