Let \(N\) be an integer such that \(N\geq 2\). In this paper an \(N\)-complex is a graded module with an endomorphism \(d\) of degree \(-1\) such that the iterated composite \(d^N\) is equal to \(0\); thus, in particular, \(2\)-complexes are the same as chain complexes. On chain complexes there is a projective model structure in which the weak equivalences are the homology isomorphisms, and there is a Strøm type model structure in which the weak equivalences are the chain homotopy equivalences. The projective model structure has been extended to \(N\)-complexes for all \(N\geq 2\). In the present paper the Strøm type model structure is similarly extended to \(N\)-complexes for all \(N\geq 2\).
