Der Verfasser zeigt an verschiedenen Beispielen (JFM 07.0630.01), dass die mathematischen Theorien der Capillarität in vollkommener Uebereinstimmung mit der Theorie der Oberflächenspannung stehen, wenn man nur den in die Formel eintretenden Constanten eine geeignete physikalische Bedeutung beilegt. Die zweite Arbeit (JFM 07.0630.02) enthält im Wesentlichen nur eine Berichtigung, die letzte Arbeit (JFM 07.0630.04) eine vorläufige Mittheilung der Hauptresultate.
