The authors obtain random boson and fermion point processes by taking the thermodynamic limit of the random point processes obtained by considering the distribution function of the position of \(N\) Bose or Fermi particles in a box described by a canonical ensemble at finite temperature. The result builds on the characterization of the point processes in terms of their Laplace transform. The paper thus provides a clear connection between such boson and fermion point processes and elementary quantum mechanics, obtaining them without any reference to quantum field theory or states on operator algebras. The same approach is also applied to obtain random point processes corresponding to the position distribution of para-particles of order two, as well as composite particles at zero temperature.
