This paper is a continuation of \textit{T. Acar} et al. [Mediterr. J. Math. 14, No. 1, Paper No. 6, 1--14 (2017; Zbl 1362.41005)], where Szász-Mirakyan operators preserving exponential functions are discussed. As a first result, the authors show that the sequence of the norms of the operators, acting on weighted spaces having different weights, is uniformly bounded. Korovkin-type approximation theorems through exponentially weighted convergence are shown. Uniform weighted approximation errors are studied for exponential weights. Finally, the authors provide a Voronovskaya type theorem for the derivative of the operators.
