The authors give various elementary formulas for approximating the number \(e\) and compare their performances. They estimate that the \(BK^x\) approximation they propose would yield \(e\) accurate to 40 billion decimal places, but they do not evaluate the corresponding computation time. To be more complete, comparisons should also be made with the continued fraction approximation of \(e\).
