A dynamical system is gradient like if the \(\omega\)-limit set of any precompact orbit belongs to the set \(E\) of equilibrium points. Moreover we say that there is convergence of solutions if for every precompact orbit the \(\omega\)-limit set is a single point. The authors study the convergence of solutions property in connection with the type of points in the \(\omega\)-limit and also the stability of this property for perturbations. The last property is studied in an abstract case and after the results are applied to some parabolic and hyperbolic case.
