The authors consider the nonlinear wave equation \[ \square u+|u|^4u=0\quad \text{in} \;\mathbb{R}_t\times \Omega, \] where \(\Omega\) is the exterior of a strictly convex domain in \(\mathbb{R}^3\). By proving a structure theorem for bounded energy sequences of solutions to the attached linear wave equation and using Strichartz estimates, they give a description of bounded energy sequences of solutions of the nonlinear wave equation considered, up to remainder terms, small both in energy and Strichartz norms. Some interesting consequences, as an a priori bound for the Strichartz norms by means of the energy, are also deduced.
