    In this paper the author generalizes some extensions of L. Ou-Iang's inequality given by \textit{B. G. Pachpatte} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 189, No. 1, 128-144 (1995; Zbl 0824.26010)]. In particular, the author proves that if \(p \geq 1\), and \(u, f, g, h, j \) and \(k\) be real-valued nonnegative continuous functions for which the inequality \[ u^{p}(t) \leq f(t) + \int^t_0 u^{p-1}(s)\Biggl[h(t,s) + k(t,s)u(s) + j(t,s)\int^s_0 g(s,m)u(m) dm\Biggr] ds \] holds, then \[ u(t) \leq K(t)Q(t)\Biggl[f^{1/p}(t) +\int^t_0 h(t,s) ds\Biggr]\exp\Biggl(-K(t) \int^t_0 j(t,s) ds\Biggr), \] where \[ K(t) =\exp\int^t_0 k(t,s) ds \] and \[ Q(t) = 1 + K(t)\int^t_0 j(t,s)\Biggl[\exp\int^s_0 \Biggl(2K(s)j(s,m) + g(s,m)\Biggr) dm \Biggr] ds. \] Furthermore, the discrete analogue of the above inequality and applications of the results obtained were also given.
