A class of solutions to the static spherically symmetric Einstein-Maxwell equations is presented for a perfect fluid in terms of elementary functions. The range of the physical parameters is given where the energy density and the pressure of the fluid are positive, and where the speed of sound is smaller than the speed of light. The solution is matched to a Reissner-Nordström solution at the surface of vanishing pressure to provide a model for a charged star.
