A Novikov algebra is the local structure of a certain Poisson structure of hydrodynamic type. In this article, the authors give a classification of transitive Novikov algebras on four-dimensional nilpotent Lie algebras based on \textit{H. Kim}'s work [J. Differ. Geom. 24, 373-394 (1986; Zbl 0591.53045)].
