The authors deal with the Hausdorff dimension of invariant sets of nonuniformly hyperbolic nonconformal maps. They prove that if the map is nonuniformly expanding (implying positive Lyapunov exponents to be Lebesgue almost everywhere), then the Hausdorff dimension of the repeller is strictly less than \(d\), where \(f:M\to M\) is a map on a \(d\)-dimensional Riemannian manifold. This approach also provides information on escape rates and dynamical dimension of the repeller.
