The number of representations of an integer by the quadratic forms \[ f_1= x^2+ 2y^2+ 32 z^2\quad\text{and}\quad f_2= 2x^2+ 4y^2+ 9z^2- 4yz \] is computed using results by \textit{J. B. Tunnell} [Invent. Math. 72, 323--334 (1983; Zbl 0515.10013)]. Furthermore the 2-power in these representation numbers is estimated from below using results by Zhao.
