The author develops a direct approach to the class of codifferential real functions in normed spaces. This approach is due to \textit{V. F. Dem'yanov} [Vestn. Leningr. Univ., Math. 21, No. 2, 27--33 (1988); translation from Vestn. Leningr. Univ., Ser. I 1988, No. 2, 22--26 (1988; Zbl 0671.49014)] in \(\mathbb R^N\) (Reference 4 in the list of references) and further developed with \textit{A. M. Rubinov} [Foundations of nonsmooth analysis and quasidifferential calculus. Optimizatsiya i Issledovanie Operatsij, 23. Moskva: Nauka (1990; Zbl 0728.49001)]. The set of functions quasidifferentiable at a point coincides with the set of functions quasidifferentiable at the same point (Proposition 3.1). This reveals the proper links, but the infinite-dimensional case involves some particularities that are all duly covered.
