Let \(\Pi\) be a finite projective plane of order \(q\). An oval is a set of \(q + 1\) points, no three of which are collinear. When \(q\) is even, every oval can be uniquely extended to a set of \(q + 2\) points, no three of which are collinear. Such a set of \(q + 2\) points is called a \textit{hyperoval}. If \(\Pi\) is a translation plane of even order \(q\) having translation line \(\ell_{\infty}\) then a hyperoval \(\mathcal{O}\) is called a \textit{translation hyperoval} if \(\ell_{\infty}\) contains two points of \(\mathcal{O}\) and there exists a subgroup of order \(q\) in the translation group acting regularly on the remaining \(q\) points of \(\mathcal{O}\). A complete classification of hyperovals in the case \(\Pi=\mathrm{PG}(2, q)\) is not known, although there are several inequivalent hyperovals in \(\mathrm{PG}(2, q)\) besides the regular hyperovals (conic plus its nucleus). In this paper, the authors present three new families of translation hyperovals: one in the semifield plane \(\Pi(\mathbb{K}_n)\) coordinated by the Knuth's binary presemifield \(\mathbb{K}_n\), one in \(\Pi(\mathbb{K}_{n}^t)\) and another one in \(\Pi(\mathbb{K}_n^{td})\), where \(t\) and \(d\) are the transpose and the dual operation on \(\mathbb{K}_n\), respectively. Also, they give a complete list of translation hyperovals in such planes when \(n = 5\).
