This treatment of a model of finite strain damage-elastoplastic model uses the notion of a split of the stress tensor. This detailed technical paper is aimed at development of sound analytical and computational tools for understanding the behavior of finitely deformed elasto-plastic structures. The notion is that such structures have been damaged. The authors use the idea of a split stress tensor, as they have in previous work. Numerical examples, including finite elastoplastic-damage of a notched specimen, finite expansion of a thick-wall cylinder, finite expansion of a thick-wall hollow sphere, and finite upsetting of an axisymmetric billet are discussed in detail. Of interest to engineering researchers interested in materials processing, as well as those concerned with computational techniques.
