This paper considers the asymptotic behaviour of infinite-dimensional lattice dynamical systems of reaction diffusion type in weighted lattice spaces. In particular, for the discrete reaction diffusion system \[ \dot{u}_{i}=\nu \, (u_{i-1}-2 u_{i}+u_{i+1}) + f(u_{i})+g_{i}, \,\,\, i \in {\mathbb Z} \] and the partly dissipative system \[ \dot{u}_{i}-\nu_{i} \, (u_{i-1}-2 u_{i}+u_{i+1}) + f(u_{i},(Bu)_{i})+\alpha_{i} v_{i}=h_{i}, \,\,\, i \in {\mathbb Z} \] \[ \dot{v}_{i}+\sigma_{i} v_{i}-\beta_{i} u_{i}=g_{i}, \,\,\, i \in {\mathbb Z} \] where \(\nu_{i},\sigma_{i} >0\), \(\alpha_{i} \beta_{i}>0\), \(f_{i} \in C^{1}({\mathbb R}\times {\mathbb R},{\mathbb R})\) and \((Bu)_{i}:=u-{i+1}-u_{i}\), the existence of exponential attractors is shown in weighted spaces \(\ell^{2}_{\sigma}\) and \(\ell^{2}_{\mu}\times\ell^{2}_{\mu}\) respectively (for suitable choice of the weights). The proofs are based on an abstract result which guarantees the existence of an exponential attractor for a semigroup if a discrete squeezing property holds. This property is in turn guaranteed through detailed estimates on the systems.
