The authors consider a random ball model on spheres. More precisely, they consider balls thrown at random on the \(n\)-dimensional surface, where the random radii vary as \(r^{-n-1+2H}\) as \(r \rightarrow 0^+\) for some real parameter \(H\). The number of balls covering each point of the sphere corresponds to a random field. A suitable renormalization leads to a Gausian limit, that is shown to be locally self-similar in the case \(H < 1/2\).
