The authors study entire solutions of quasilinear elliptic equations of the form \[ \operatorname{div}{\mathcal A}(x,u,Du)={\mathcal B}(x,u,Du)\tag{1} \] under various coercive conditions on the vector-valued function \(\mathcal A\) and the scalar function \(\mathcal B\). Here what is meant by entire solutions is \(C^1\) distributional solutions defined for all \(x\in {\mathbb R}^n\). The purpose of authors is to find asymptotic behavior \(u(x)=o(|x|^k)\) (as \(|x|\to\infty\)) at which any entire solution of (1) must vanish identically. The same problem was investigated recently by A. Farina and J. Serrin (in a paper submitted for publication) and several open problems were formulated. In the present paper the authors solve some of the problems. Moreover, significant improvements of Farina and Serrin results are obtained in the context of mean curvature type operators. In the paper under review the main tool is comparison Theorem 3.6.4 from joint authors' book [The maximum principle. Basel: Birkhäuser (2007; Zbl 1134.35001)].
