The authors deal with the classical problem of integral geometry consisting in finding an integrand function by means of data represented by its integrals over some manifolds. However, in contrast to the usual approach, here the number of variables in the unknown integrand is larger than that in the given integrals. In addition, the manifolds over which the integrals extend are not known in advance. The aim is to find a few of the unknown data in order to get some uniqueness results. Motivations coming from sounding of media by various physical signals lead to assume the relevant data to be determined to be the discontinuity surfaces of the unknown integrands. In this view, the paper is a development of previous researches [\textit{D. S. Anikonov}, Dokl. Math. 76, No. 1, 483--485; translation from Dokl. Akad. Nauk, Ross. Akad. Nauk 415, No. 1, 7--9 (2007; Zbl 1171.53048); Sib. Mat. Zh. 49, No. 4, 739--755; translation in Sib. Math. J. 49, No. 4, 587--600 (2008; Zbl 1164.53398)], with an increased number of unknown parameters, and a reduced amount of information in the available data. In particular, a uniqueness result is described for the problem of determining an unknown boundary satisfying some general assumptions.
