To solve the inverse problems for some families of orthogonal functions (e.g., for Krein orthogonal entire matrix functions; see [Funct. Anal. Appl. 41, No. 2, 115--125 (2007); translation from Funkts. Anal. Prilozh. 41, No. 2, 44--57 (2007; Zbl 1255.47017)]), the authors use a band method approach. A non-stationary version of the Szegő-Krein theorem is also presented in this context.
