The authors introduce and compare several classes of ``semi-regular'' sets in a topological space. They use those notions to obtain new decompositions of continuity and some weaker forms of continuity: \(\alpha\)-continuity and \(A\)-continuity. (See \textit{J. Tong} [Acta Math. Hung. 48, 11--15 (1986; Zbl 0609.54012)].)
