Let \(G=SL_ 2({\mathbb{R}})\) and \(\Gamma \subset G\) be a lattice such that G/\(\Gamma\) is not compact. Let \(U\subset G\) be a unipotent one-parameter subgroup. In the paper it is proved that any nonperiodic orbit of U on G/\(\Gamma\) is uniformly distributed. The discrete version of this theorem is also proved.
