A model of SU(3) is considered, the generators of which are realized in terms of boson creation and annihilation operators of an irreducible representation of the Lie algebra so(6,2) (Flath and Biedenharn, Bracken and MacGibbon). The proposed new realization of the Lie algebra su(3) representation, involving only quadratic expressions in eight pair boson operators, is manifestly Hermitian and integrable to a unitary group representation.
