A convergence analysis of a finite difference scheme for a parabolic problem, described by the one dimensional heat equation with time-dependent operator and a singular coefficient with the Dirac delta function is presented. An error bound estimate, ``almost'' compatible with the smootheness of the exact solution is established by means of a special energetic Sobolev norm.
