The transformation of a solitary wave reflected by a vertical wall, which can also be interpreted as a particular case of solitary wave interaction - the head-on collision of two identical solitons - is analyzed numerically within the framework of the ideal incompressible potential flow model. Because of its nonlinearity the solitary wave interaction problem is fairly complex but, in view of its undoubted interest, is being actively investigated by both asymptotic methods and laboratory and numerical modeling. In relation to certain aspects of the problem good agreement between theory, calculation and experiment has been achieved. This applies, in particular, to the maximum wave splash onto the wall.
