The main result of the article states that a holomorphic Banach bundle \(E\) on a compact complex manifold \(X\), satisfying the cohomological condition \(H^1(X,{\mathcal O}) = 0\) is the direct sum of a finite rank bundle and the trivial one, provided \(E\) is a compact perturbation of the trivial bundle. The proof uses the standard cohomological formalism, Fredholm theory and a recent theorem due to \textit{J. Leiterer} [Ann. Sc. Norm. Super. Pisa, Cl. Sci. (5) 6, No. 1, 15--37 (2007; Zbl 1178.32016)]. A simple example shows that the condition \(H^1(X,{\mathcal O}) = 0\) is necessary in the statement. This is a summary of the PhD thesis of the author, under the mentorship of L. Lempert.
