The authors discuss the Hermite-Sobolev spaces which is naturally associated with the harmonic oscillator \(H=-\Delta+|x|^{2}\) in \({\mathbb R}^{d}\). In order to define such spaces they introduce an integral operator \[ H^{-a}f(x)=\frac{1}{\Gamma(a)}\int^{\infty}_{0}e^{-tH}f(x)t^{a} \frac{dt}{t},\qquad x\in{\mathbb R}^{n},\qquad a>0. \] For \(a>0\) and \(p\in[1,\infty)\), they define the Hermite-Sobolev space \({\mathcal L}^{p}_{a}\) as\({\mathcal L}^{p}_{a}=H^{-a/2}(L^{p}({\mathbb R}^{d}))\), with a norm given by \(\| f\|_{{\mathcal L}^{p}_{a}}=\| g\|_{L^{p}({\mathbb R}^{d})}\), where \(g\) is such that \(H^{-a/2}g=f\). They also obtain structural properties of \({\mathcal L}^{p}_{a}\), relationships between \({\mathcal L}^{p}_{a}\) and the classical Sobolev spaces, the boundedness of the Hermite-Riesz transformation on \({\mathcal L}^{p}_{a}\), and almost everywhere convergence of solutions to the Schrödinger equation \(i\frac{\partial u}{\partial t}=Hu\).
