The authors study the Schrödinger-Virasoro Lie algebra SV. On the one hand, the authors construct its representation theory, including realizations as Lie symmetries of field equations, coadjoint representation and coinduced representations in connection with Cartan's prolongation method. On the other hand, the authors also present a detailed cohomological study, providing in particular a classification of deformations and central extensions.
