De Sitter and anti-de Sitter spacetimes are the exact solutions of the vacuum Einstein equations with positive respectively negative cosmological constant. Their symmetry groups are \(\mathrm{SO}(1,4)\), respectively \(\mathrm{SO}(2,3)\), both containing \(\mathrm{SO}(1,3)\) as a subgroup. The main result of the current paper is that any \(\mathrm{SO}(1,3)\)-invariant solution of the vacuum Einstein equations with cosmological constant must have constant curvature. Consequently, any such solution is either de Sitter spacetime or anti-de Sitter spacetime.
