Which hypersurfaces of \({\mathbb{R}}^{n+1}\) admit local isometric immersions with flat normal connection into some round sphere \(S^{n+q}(c)?\) It was known by work of \textit{M. do Carmo} and \textit{M. Dajczer} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 86, 115-119 (1982; Zbl 0496.53009)] that this is the case for non- flat conformally flat hypersurfaces with \(n\geq 4\), where \(q=1\). The authors study another class, called p-parameter envelopes of n-spheres with respect to the above property. They obtain in particular certain uniqueness theorems.
