The authors deal with 2-dimensional complex analytic systems near a nonequilibrium phase curve \(\Gamma\) within an energy surface \(\Sigma\). The linearization along \(\Gamma\) provides a linear ordinary differential equation on the symplectic normal bundle \(T\Sigma\) /T\(\Gamma\) of \(\Gamma\) with the monodromy \(\rho\) : \(\pi\) \({}_ 1(\Gamma)\to Sp(1,{\mathbb{C}})\) in the symplectic group and the presence of integrals can be related to the existence of fixed points of \(\rho\) (the Ziglin's theory). The authors study the holonomy group in more detail (especially the reducibility and full reducibility, the case when certain symmetries of the Hamiltonian exist) and state several non-integrability theorems based on an (easily verifiable) trace requirement. Several examples illustrate the general theory.
