    Define the sequence \(u_n\) by \(u_0=\theta\) and \(u_n\equiv u_{n-1}^e \bmod M\) such that \(0\leq u_n<M\) for integers \(e\geq 2\) and \(M\geq 1\). Let \(\tau\) and \(t\) are the multiplicative order of \(\theta\) and \(e\) modulo \(M\) and assume \(n\leq \tau\). By an application of the Erdős-Turan inequality the authors prove the following bound for the discrepancy: \[ D_N\left(\frac{u_n}M\right)\ll N^{-5/9}t^{1/4}M^{5/18+\varepsilon}, \qquad \varepsilon>0, \] where the constant implied may only depend on \(\epsilon\).
