Under consideration is the equation \(u_t = Au + F(u)\), \(u\in L^2(\Omega)\), where \(\Omega\subset \mathbb R^d\) is a bounded domain, \(A\) a uniformly elliptic operator on \(\Omega\) with the zero Dirichlet boundary condition, and \(F: L^2(\Omega)\to L^2(\Omega)\) is a locally Lipschitz continuous mapping satisfying certain growth conditions. The authors prove the existence of weak solutions and the existence of a global attractor in \(L^2(\Omega)\) for this equation. Their method is the Galerkin approximation.
