In this paper an alternative proof of some limit theorem on the range of a recurrent Markov chain is presented. In the proof the range sequence is estimated by some sequence satisfying \textit{J. F. C. Kingman}'s [Ann. Probab. 1, 883-909 (1973; Zbl 0311.60018)] subadditive ergodic theorem.
