The author purports to derive the existence of Higgs multiplets and of non-abelian gauge fields from the requirement that the Dirac operator coupled to a scalar and vector field, respectively, be transformable to a ''vacuum Hamiltonian''. The latter concept appears to have to do with analyticity in the Bargmann representation of quantum mechanics, but has remained obscure for the reviewer. He has found the author's exposition plainly unintelligible.
