A model of a fluidized bed as a medium consisting of two interacting interpenetrating ideal fluids is used to investigate the propagation of one-dimensional linear and nonlinear perturbations of the particle concentration in a gas-fluidized bed. The interaction of the particles with each other is taken into account by introducing into the momentum1 (1986); translation from Dokl. Akad. Nauk SSSR 288, 540-543 (1986). Let A be a symmetric classical pseudodifferential operator of negative order; let \(\Omega \subset {\mathbb{R}}^ n\) be a bounded region, r the operator of restriction to \(\Omega\) and \(\hat A=rA: L_ 2(\Omega)\to L_ 2(\Omega)\). - The author gives asymptotics for the distribution function \(N_-(\tau,\hat A):=card\{i|\lambda_ i<-\tau \}\) of the negative spectrum of A as \(\tau \to +0\). He investigates the case of the nonnegative principal symbol that vanishes on a submanifold \(\Sigma \subset T^*\Omega \setminus 0.\) It is shown that certain problems of the theory of shells can be studied with help of the results in this paper. As usual in such Russian short papers the proofs are only indicated.
