For the hyperbolic equation \(u_ t+cu_ x=0\), the Fourier analysis of \(C^ 1\)-collocation semidiscretization at the Gauss points is performed, using a tridiagonal \(C^ 1\)-collocation, i.e. a 3-point finite difference method proposed previously by the author [ibid. 30, No.4, 299- 309 (1988; Zbl 0651.65062)]. The results are compared with other methods.
