A continuous-time model of growth and reproduction for a perennial herb with discrete growing seasons is considered. The growth is in general supposed to be a concave function of body size. Under the assumption that the metabolic rates of reproductive and storage structures are equal the author finds the optimal allocations to the vegetative, reproductive, and reserve structures.
