A popular method for generating surfaces in design packages is the Coons- Gordon blending method. One of the well-known problems with this surfaces generating method is that blends of boundary curves that are similar but oppositely oriented produce flat spots in the middle of the surface since the two boundary curves tend to ``cancel each other out''. This paper describes a method for generating a surface in a B-spline based system that is designed to overcome this problem.
