Let \(G\) be a crystallographic group of dimension 2. The main result of the paper is the computation of \(\widetilde K_i (\mathbb{Z} G)\) for \(i\leq 0\) and \(Wh(G)\). All these groups are trivial with the exception of the case \(K_{-1} (\mathbb{Z} G)= \mathbb{Z}\) for \(G=P6\) and \(G= P6mm \). The computation is based on the result of Farrell and Jones that their isomorphism conjecture for algebraic \(K\)-theory is true for crystallographic groups. This reduces the computation of \(\widetilde K_i (\mathbb{Z} G)\) for \(i\leq 1\) to the computation of the equivariant homology of the classifying space for proper group actions \(\underline EG\) with coefficients in the algebraic \(K\)-theory spectrum defined over the orbit category of \(G\) with respect to the family of virtually cyclic subgroups. This is carried out with the help of certain spectral sequences.
