In this interesting paper the authors prove the convergence of \(\text{LTS}_N\) method in respect of the steady-state and time-dependent one-dimensional linear transport equation, using extensively the approaches of semigroup strong conditions as well as, more importantly, certain discrete schemes. After presenting a review of classical results concerning the general linear transport problem, the \(\text{LTS}_N\) method is briefly described. Then the semigroup technique for steady state of the 1-D transport problem for the case in which the total cross-section and scattering kernels are independent of the space variable is dealt with. This is followed by a discussion of the spatial variable-dependent situation. At time-dependent \(\text{LTS}_N\)-approximation of the 1-D transportation is also given with a concluding section that includes some ideas about extensions of the work to study further the convergence of various numerical methods in transport theory with the aid of integral transforms. Fifteen standard references are provided but no numerical calculations are involved.
