Modal coupling in linear control systems using robust eigenstructure assignment (Q1307215): Difference between revisions

A new output feedback design approach using robust eigenstructure assignment to achieve prescribed mode input and output coupling is described. This approach exploits fully the degree of freedom in the system in order to improve both mode input/output coupling and robustness, whilst allowing the precision of the eigenvalue placement to be relaxed. The corresponding nonlinear eigenstructure assignment problem is shown to be equivalent to a linear least-squares problem that can be solved by standard techniques. The application of this procedure to a flight control system is described.
