The famous Schauder conjecture states that every compact convex set in a metric linear space has the fixed point property. In the present paper the authors show that all compact convex sets constructed by \textit{J. W. Roberts} [Stud. Math. 60, 255-266 (1977; Zbl 0397.46010)] in so-called needle point spaces have the fixed point property.
