Feller semigroups in \(\mathbb{R}^ n\), defined for the theory of the Markov processes as in \textit{E. B. Dynkin} [Markov processes, Vols. 1 and 2 (1965; Zbl 0132.379)], have generators \(P\) which can be represented in the pseudo-differential form \[ Pu(x)= (2\pi)^{-n} \int e^{ix\xi} p(x,\xi) \widehat{u}(\xi)d\xi. \] In the set of the symbols \(p(x,\xi)\) obtained in this way, the author characterizes a relevant class of examples, of the type \[ p(x,\xi)= p_ 1(\xi)+ p_ 2(x,\xi), \] where \(p_ 1(D)\) is an operator with constant coefficients and \(p_ 2(x,D)\) is a perturbation. The Feller properties are verified under suitable assumptions on \(p_ 1\), \(p_ 2\). Probabilistic consequences have been drawn by the author in a preceding paper [Forum Math. 4, No. 5, 433-446 (1992; Zbl 0759.60078)].
