This article deals with the study of the ideal defining the orbit of a highest weight vector in a finite dimensional irreducible representation of a basic classical Lie superalgebra. For a semisimple Lie algebra, this situation gives rise to the so-called Plücker coordinates, and the ideal is generated by the elements of degree 2. In the present case, this is shown to be no longer true. The theory is illustrated in detail for the examples osp(3,2) and sl(1,2).
